Some babies have four legs...

This adorable couple bid on a session I donated to a fund raising auction and while they don't yet have any children they do have two beautiful (and large) dogs that rule their lives. I had so much fun photographing them this afternoon and I'm glad they came down to the loft!

Last week I got to catch up with a family that I hadn't seen since the Fall.  Their youngest is in our baby plan so and I can't believe how big he has gotten since our last session.  And check out his hair!!!

 

I played some tag with his big brother and sister in the empty lot across from their house which has GIANT trees.  I loved it.

 

When I arrived at their home the kids couldn't wait to show me some of their toys and they call me by name which really made me feel good.  Mom said they were really excited to get to see me again.  Big brother showed me some of his football skills.  I don't know much about football but this looks like a pretty good throw to me.

Earlier this week Fox news ran a special on a conference that was being held this weekend in Houston called the Mom 2.0 Summit.  The summit was designed to bring marketers and moms together to talk about building relationships using online tools.  Very interesting stuff to me with my web developer background.  I was interviewed as part of a segment about the story as a mom and local business owner down at my loft and many of the photos I have on display are visible in the story.  Check it out!

Urban Family Portraits - In spite of the RAIN

It started to rain just after this family arrived at my loft this evening around sunset but that didn't keep us from braving the neighborhood and hanging out under the overhangs.  At one point I had an umbrella and was standing the middle of the street taking pictures while they were against a building keeping dry!  Twin boys (my second session with twins in a row, I think) and a younger brother surely keeps mom in shape but she is also a personal trainer.  I want legs like hers!

The boys were wearing new converse sneakers and mom had some really hot peep toe shoes!  I can't wait to proof the rest of this session!  Fun stuff!!!!

Add another boy!

I was thrilled that I was going to meet this little guy at only 3 months old!  The last time I saw this family in August I photographed big brother and mom was expecting but since they live in Colorado we thought it would be a while before I got the meet the new addition.  But a last minute trip to Houston meant a visit to my Loft!  Normally I photograph newborns when they are about 2 weeks old and an older newborn certainly has different challenges but he was sweet and has beautiful big blue eyes like his brother.  It was so nice out today we even took him outside for a few photos.  He as fast asleep inside his carseat within seconds of mom putting him back in...getting your picture take is hard work!!!

I look forward to photographing the brothers together next fall when mom returns to the area to visit family again!

Twins!!!

I had fun session Saturday morning with these six year old twin girls.  The weather was clear but SUPER windy! 

These girls new A LOT of jokes.  They cracked each other up with jokes and let me be a part of the fun.

Loft Mini Portrait Sessions

We are so excited about our new loft and want to give you a chance to come check out it.  So starting in February we will be offering mini portrait sessions on Wednesdays at the loft.  This is a great way to come see the loft and get a few new pictures too.  There is a $60 session fee for a 20 minute mini session.  A typical mini-session will produce 10 finished digital proofs for you to review and choose from when you place you order.  And we are not limited to the indoors...our neighborhood is fantastic for portraits!

Limited Edition Bluebonnet Portraits

We are thrilled to have a Texas native on our staff now to guide us to the best spots so we are going to offer bluebonnet portraits this year.  We will be offering a limited number of portrait sessions the week of March 30th including a few sunset appointments perfect for school age children that cannot make sessions on weekday mornings. 

We'll be scouting locations in the Brenham area for the portrait sessions the week before and update you on the exact location once we have found the perfect spot.  We have had a lot of interest in scheduling bluebonnet sessions and expect that these will sell out quickly.

We use an online scheduling system called Jiffle to manage our appointments.  You can click on the link below to view our appointment calendar.  Choose the one hour block from the available appointments and complete your appointment request.  You will receive a confirmation email when your appointment request is accepted and a follow up paypal invoice for the session fee which can be paid via paypal, credit card, or echeck.

Limited Edition Botanical Garden Spring Portraits

 

We are thrilled that the Mercer Botanical Gardens have reopened after Hurricane Ike and would like to do our part to help them rebuild.  So we are offering our Limited Edition Botanical Garden Portraits again this spring.  These sessions sold out very early last year so be sure to book your appointment early.  We will be offering these sessions for one week in mid-March to take advantage of the blooming azaleas and other spring flowers!  These session are scheduled for the week of the Houston ISD spring break so it is a great way to have portraits made of your school aged children.  

$25 of each paid $175 session fee from these sessions will be donated to the Botanical Gardens to help with their rebuilding efforts after Hurricane Ike.  

The sessions are scheduled for the week of March 16th and booked over a month in advance last year.  We use an online scheduling system to manage our calendar.  Choose your one hour block from the available dates and times and complete the form to reserve your appointment.  You will receive a confirmation of your appointment and an email invoice for your session fee.
